An eerie howl rang out and echoed across the high skyline of the city. An otherwise peaceful night had been interrupted by this strange sound. Oddly enough, only few heard it. Within the shadows, slightly glowing green eyes scanned the city below, searching. But for what? Only the beast knew that. As it scanned for its target, its stripped tail swayed from side to side, excited for the hunt ahead. As the distorted reality faded away, the beast locked on and slipped off. It had only a slight thought for stealth but what was the fun in that? When people screamed and ran in terror, that was the real fun. But upon studying this particular target, the hunter knew the prey wasn't so susceptible when facing an enemy.

The beast stalked along a rooftop studying the scene below. Perfect. The target was alone. Hunching over, it looked over its prey before descending to the ground below. Making an audible thud of its hind legs on purpose making the target whip around. The green eyes studied the redhead with excitement. It saw confusion in her crimson eyes. Then, her expression reverted to hostile anger as she drew her weapon. A spear. Yet the beast had its own means for attacking. The beast let its prey make the first move, knowing all too well her tactics for battle.

As if on cue, the redhead struck the weapon cutting hard into the pavement. Ah, but the beast was much quicker. Dodging, it lept up then grabbed the girl by the throat before she could make any other moves. Fear started to appear within those crimson eyes. Oh how the hunter loved to see fear even in the most fearless of warriors. It was then the monster decided to play with its food a little and released the girl by throwing her hard into the side of the alleyway wall. The girl was already warn out from her previous battle and now is up against something like this?

The beast darkly chuckled and slowly stalked up to the wounded redhead, a set of dog tags clinking together around its neck. “Just what the hell are you.” the redhead managed to spit out. The beast sneered a toothy grin kneeling down to its prey grabbing her chin lifting it up enough so that she could take a good look. “Some kind of monster.” she said. The hunter let out another dark chuckle and slowly scraped a sharp claw down the girl's cheek, eyeing the red liquid that seeped from it. “Little red, little red. Oh how far from home you are.” the beast spoke with a gruff tone. “Who the hell are you” the girl asked again gritting her teeth. The beast only smiled and spoke in the same gruff tone, “Let me answer your question with another question; are you afraid of the big bad wolf?”
What happens when an experienced fighter goes up against something they had no recollection of existence? Perhaps the warrior should be open to all possibilities knowing the monsters they fight are not the only ones out there.

A little insight to this particular drabble: so again I spent a good amount of my day reading all the fantastic Madoka Magica fanfictions out there getting inspiration for my own. Then this hit me. No lie, square in the face like a baseball bat. It just exploded into something that might be the start of a side story. So, this is the result. I fancy Sayaka Miki out of all the Magical Girls but Kyoko has a tsundere attitude about her that got me thinking. What if she was faced with something that wasn't a witch, but another hostile creature intent on killing her. And for my love of werewolves, this kind of clashed and molded together. I may drabble on this topic more but I just wanted to see what kind of reaction this short would get; comments are always appreciated. :D 482 words by the way.
